Minimalist Wardrobe Video Update

35 items of clothing, 8 pairs of shoes, 3 bags

As January nears its end, I am happy to say I have been able to complete a couple projects I’ve been working on.

First, I have finally made my first YouTube video. Yay! Here it is.

The video is an update on the post I wrote at the start of this year going through every item of clothing I own. You will see some changes have been made since I wrote that post.

I am now down to 35 items of clothing from 38. I removed the following items of clothing:

The blue cotton The Fifth onesie had very limited use, and even now, when I should be wearing it the most, I was barely acknowledging its existence. Also, I cannot wear it to work, so its only function was summer leisure wear.

I hadn’t worn the grey cotton Zulu and Zephyr top at all this summer, and it’s another item I cannot wear to work.

The white cotton Target tee is still technically with me, though it has been moved into the fitness category of clothing, seeing as I only really ever wear it hiking these days.

Likewise, the blush cotton H&M top was moved to the PJ/leisure wear drawer, as I only ever really wore it around the house or as a warmth layer in winter.

I also purchased an item off my wish list, a black cotton high neck tee by Weekday, available here.

The second project I have been working on is creating a Patreon page. I have now launched it, and am in the process of recording a video as a reward for those of you who would like to contribute to my work.

As you have probably noticed, I like to be fairly anonymous on my social media. That is because of the nature of my work. I am happy to reveal more of myself through the Patreon subscription service, because I feel like it’s a secure way of revealing my face.

I started the Patreon account because I do want to be able to spend more time writing and making videos, and this is a nice incentive to do so. Also, it has quickly become apparent that filming videos on my iPhone does not create the best quality of footage, so I’ve set a goal to invest in some proper equipment.

  1. This is lovely :). I started on my iphone and then decided to test my existing camera gear. With a few upgrades, I’ve managed to use what I have and learn along the way. Even a point-and-shoot can produce some decent videos, if you want to play around with options. good luck!

  2. Well done with your closet purging. I think your reasons were extremely valid. I’m looking forward to watching your YouTube video. Best of luck.

  3. I saw a documentary on Netflix about minimalism, and I loved it. My family hates it because I like empty spaces and do little to no decorating. But, boy, does having nothing make a difference in how I feel. Besides, I have better things to spend my money on!

I look forward to your posts.
