Holiday Minimalism: Frugal Decoration DIYs

30 items of clothing, 7 pairs of shoes, 2 bags

Regardless of your holiday rituals, decorating your home for the season can be expensive. It is good to keep this in perspective. The Holiday season is a relatively short period of time in the context of the entire year. For this reason, storing a large amount of stuff for this specialised purpose is not a very attractive prospect to me.

Today I want to give you some simple and frugal holiday decoration DIYs.

My goal with these was to be able to make them mostly from things that are easy to find around the house. I also wanted them to be easy to disassemble, so that the items used could go back to their everyday function after the holiday season.

These DIYs encapsulate the traditional motifs associated with Christmas, though they have a modern twist. Most of these materials are readily available in craft shops or in your home and do not require specialised purchases. All of these DIYs can be easily deconstructed, recycled, stored or discarded beyond the holiday season.
